A robust support for overhead illumination such as hair lighting, the Saldo Boom Light Stand from Phottix is two supports in one. With the boom in a vertical position, the stand rises to a maximum height of 12.9′. The boom arm can tilt 180°. The tilting mechanism is simple and features a sturdy locking lever, and while extended allows you to position a light above your frame without seeing the stand in the shot. A reversible 5/8″ mounting stud, with 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threaded studs, is included, as well as an empty counterweight bag that you can fill on location.

The top riser arm is attached via a 180° mechanism that allows you to use it as a standard light stand, or use the top riser as a boom

The top riser arm has a maximum length of 79.9″ when used as a traditional stand; when used as a boom arm, the length is less as you have to balance the weight at the end on the other side of the fulcrum

An included counterweight bag ships empty to save you on weight; you can fill it up to 17.6 lb on location
